Additional learning support

At our school, we ensure every student is ready to learn. We support students with disability and additional learning needs so they can take part in all areas of school life. You do not need a formal diagnosis for your child to receive support in a mainstream class. Support can begin at any stage of school.

Support that fits your child's needs

Some students need extra support to feel confident and do their best at school. We work closely with families to make support plans and adjustments  that suits each child’s needs.

Additional learning support can include:

Anti-bullying

Bullying of any kind is not acceptable in NSW schools.

The NSW anti-bullying website brings together information and resources for teachers, students, parents and carers. It provides information related to online safety and what you can do if your child has been bullied, witnessed bullying or been involved in bullying.

For more information on anti-bullying strategies for NSW public schools, see the department’s Bullying: Preventing and Responding to Student Bullying in Schools Policy.

For information on racial bullying and anti-racism education for NSW public schools, see:

In 2023, as part of our review of school wellbeing practices, the Anti-bullying Plan was reviewed.

Thank you for your input. Our 2023 Carinya School Anti-bullying Plan has both preventative and proactive approaches that address the prevention and management of bullying behaviours.

Financial contributions and assistance

There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.

These include:

Voluntary school contributions

Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

For more information, visit the Voluntary School Contribution policy.

Financial assistance

If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.

Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.
